Overview:

Toxic leadership is a topic that has been coming up more and more often lately. And rightly so, because it can have disastrous consequences. Not only can it be a sign of an entire organizational culture that is toxic, it can also occur on a small scale, within a single team or specifically linked to one person, but cause just as much damage.

Toxicity leads to a work environment in which employees feel unsafe and uncomfortable. It can cause physical and mental health problems and can even control the personal lives of those exposed to it. Moreover, it is also not good for organizations, as the hostile work situation can result in lower engagement and productivity and higher turnover. It is therefore crucial to understand exactly what toxic leadership is, how to recognize it-and, above all, how to prevent it.

Areas Covered in the Session:

  • What is toxic leadership and what forms can it take?
  • What are the watch-outs and how can managers circumvent their own potential blind spots?
  • What can you do if toxic behavior does occur-as a manager yourself and as an employee?
  • What kind of leadership is the way to go and how do you take the right steps in the right direction?
